Homeless people are one of the most disadvantaged groups in the UK, according to the charity organisation, Homeless Link, the homeless face issues such as discrimination, negative stigma, and confidence barriers to say the least. Homeless Link also illustrated in a 2018 report how many individuals benefitted from training activities and work experience. In 2019 we shall initiate programmes that will train the homeless on how to cut hair, offer free haircuts, create partnerships with hair salons, and deliver our services in our out-reach programme ‘Hair to Help’.
During the Christmas period many homeless people are at their most vulnerable, hence why charities such as Red Cross and Crisis at Christmas make a remarkable effort to palliate the conditions suffered by the homeless. BBNA is conscious and prepared to participate, our team of barbers shall offer street barbering on a weekly basis and point individuals to their nearest ‘Hair to Help’ station. We want to make a positive impact in the lives of as many homeless people as possible.
Our Gofundme account is active for anyone that wants to contribute to the cause. With your help we shall purchase sleeping bags, facilitate training, and purchase work attire for those ready to get into employment.
Together we can beat Homelnessness…
